Wear Adhesive Nipple Covers, or Sensitive Adhesive Nipple Covers if your nipples are sensitive, from the moment you get dressed. They stick to your skin, and a backless dress gives them nothing else to hold onto. If the dress needs lift, add boob tape over the covers for the ceremony and photos, then take it off with oil, since tape is made for a few hours rather than a whole day. A sticky bra works only if the back of the dress sits above its cups.
What goes under a backless dress if you only need coverage?
Adhesive Nipple Covers. A backless dress often hangs loose at the front too, so the cover has to hold itself on, and adhesive does that through the ceremony, dinner and dancing. Take your usual size, Small (3in/8cm) for AA–B, Large (4in/10cm) for C–DD or X-Large (5in/12cm) for DDD+, and size up if you're between two. Match the shade to your chest, not your face.
If adhesive on the nipple bothers you, Sensitive Adhesive Nipple Covers hold the same way with an adhesive-free Nip-Safe center. They stop at Large, so above a DD, take the Adhesive X-Large. What if the dress needs lift?
Then it's a boob tape job, and the plan is all timing. Our tape is extra strong and grips harder the longer it's on, so you get a few hours, around three to four. Spend them where they count. Patch test it on the inside of your forearm well before the day, and only tape healthy skin, never broken, irritated, sunburned or freshly shaved.
- Covers on first, when you get dressed. Never tape directly over the nipple, and never put a non-adhesive cover underneath, because it slides while you tape.
- Tape on as late as you can, shortly before you leave for the ceremony. Run it from under the breast up toward the shoulder, kept inside the line of the dress.
- Tape off with oil once the photos are done. Take the Remover Oil to the bathroom, soak each strip, wait one to two minutes and peel slowly. Your covers stay on underneath, so you're still covered for dinner and dancing. If the oil has lifted a cover's edge, blot the skin dry and press it back down.
Tape disappears best under lined, structured or flowy fabric. Under one thin, skin-tight layer you'll see the strips. Can you wear a sticky bra or push-up inserts with a backless dress?
Yes, if the back of the dress sits above the cups. The Silicone Sticky Bra has no straps or band, and it gathers you inward for cleavage rather than lifting. It comes in cups A–D in Creme only, and on very large or heavy breasts the edges peel. Skip it under a plunge that dips below its center clasp.
Extra-Boost Sticky Push Up Inserts need structure around them. A backless dress with a lined, structured bodice or built-in cups can take them. A loose slip can't.
Will it hold through dancing and a hot day?
Adhesive covers are sweatproof and made to hold all day. What undoes them at weddings is whatever went on your chest first: body lotion, oil or sunscreen. Keep that area bare, apply to cool, dry skin, and press the edges again when you get a minute mid-evening. Silicone doesn't breathe, so a little itch or trapped sweat after many hours is normal; wash the covers that night. Tape goes on cool, dry skin too, and it needs a few minutes to set before you're moving around.

When won't this plan work?
- Lift for a twelve-hour day. Tape isn't made for that. Choose the hours that matter, or wear a dress with built-in structure.
- Lift under a single thin, skin-tight layer. The strips will show.
- Skin that reacts to adhesive. Leave the tape out. If silicone itself is the problem, Satin Nipple Pasties are fabric.
- Counting on covers for lift. Plain nipple covers don't lift, Lifting covers only give a little, and on fuller breasts tape is the only thing that carries weight.
