Which nipple cover shade should I choose?

Pick the shade closest to the skin on your chest, not your face or arms, and when you're between two, go one shade lighter for pale, sheer fabric and one shade darker for everything else. Our covers come in five shades, from lightest to deepest: Creme, Honey, Caramel, Cocoa and Mocha. The matte finish matters more than a perfect match; a shade one step off still disappears under most fabric, while any shine shows.

The five shades

Shade Best match Notes
Creme Fair to light skin with pink or neutral undertones The lightest shade; the only shade the Silicone Sticky Bra comes in
Honey Light to light-medium skin with warm or golden undertones One of the two Push Up Insert shades
Caramel Medium to tan skin The middle of the range
Cocoa Medium-deep to deep skin One of the two Push Up Insert shades
Mocha Deep to very deep skin The deepest shade

Does the shade need to match exactly?

No. A nipple cover's job is to remove the outline and the color difference under fabric, and silicone does that mainly by being flat and matte. Under an opaque top or dress, any shade within one step of your skin is invisible. Where it matters is sheer or very pale fabric, where the cover's color can read through: there, closer is better, and lighter is safer than darker.

Which shade under white or sheer clothing?

Under white or light sheer fabric, choose the shade that matches your chest or one step lighter. A darker cover shows as a shadow through white; a lighter one washes out. Under dark sheer fabric, match or go one step darker. If you wear both often, many women keep two shades. Our outfit guide has more on sheer and white.

Boob tape shade

Tape shows more than a cover does, because there's more of it and it often sits near a neckline or an open back. Match your chest as closely as you can, and if you're between shades, go darker: a slightly darker tape reads as skin in shadow, while a lighter one reads as tape. The shade names are the same across covers and tape; covers are matte silicone and tape is fabric, so judge both against your chest rather than against each other.

What we'd pick

FAQ

I'm between Honey and Caramel. Which one?

For everyday and darker clothes, Caramel. For white and sheer, Honey.

My chest is lighter than my face. Which do I match?

Your chest. That's where the cover sits.

Will the shade fade with washing?

No. The color is in the silicone, not on it. Wash with mild soap and water only; harsh soap or alcohol dulls the surface.

Can I return a shade that doesn't match?

Contact us within 30 days and we'll help, whether that's an exchange or a second opinion on which shade to try.

Do the push-up inserts come in my shade?

They come in Honey and Cocoa only. They sit inside a bra or top, so the shade isn't seen; pick the closer of the two.
