If adhesive on the nipple is the problem, our Sensitive Adhesive Nipple Covers keep it off: the adhesive is on an outer ring and the center is adhesive-free (we call it Nip-Safe), so nothing sticky touches the nipple and removal doesn't pull on it. If adhesive anywhere is the problem, Non-Adhesive covers have none at all and hold with suction under fitted clothes. And if silicone itself is what you react to, Satin Nipple Pasties are fabric. Work out which of the three you are, and there's a cover for you.
First: what are you actually reacting to?
Three different things get called "sensitive", and they need different covers.
- Sensitive nipples. The skin around is fine; the nipple itself is tender, gets sore with adhesive, or hurts on removal. You want adhesive hold without adhesive on the nipple: the Nip-Safe covers.
- Sensitive skin generally. Adhesive anywhere leaves you red or itchy. You want no adhesive at all: Non-Adhesive covers, worn under fitted clothing.
- A reaction to silicone. Rare, but real: you've tried adhesive and non-adhesive silicone and both irritated you. You want fabric: Satin Nipple Pasties.
The ladder
| Start here if… | Cover | How it holds | Wears |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your nipples are sensitive but your skin is fine, and you wear loose or backless outfits | Sensitive Adhesive (Nip-Safe), round or Triangle | Adhesive ring, adhesive-free center | Up to 50 |
| Adhesive anywhere irritates you, and you mostly wear fitted tops, bodysuits, sports bras or swimwear | Non-Adhesive, round or Triangle | Suction and body heat, no adhesive | 100+ |
| Silicone itself irritates you | Satin Nipple Pasties | Light adhesive on fabric | Disposable |
| You've reacted to all three | Stop, and talk to a dermatologist before trying anything else |
Sensitive Adhesive (Nip-Safe) covers in detail
Hypoallergenic medical-grade silicone, same matte finish and thin edges as our standard covers. The difference is the center: no adhesive there, so the nipple sits in a smooth pocket while the ring around it does the holding. They work under loose, flowy and backless clothes the way the standard Adhesive pair does. Two sizes, Small 3 in (8 cm) for AA–B and Large 4 in (10 cm) for C–D, and there is no X-Large; the Triangle version comes in Small and Large. They're less suited to heavier or softer breasts, because the center has to sit directly over the nipple and a cover that folds at the bottom edge will lift.
How to patch test
Before a first wear of any adhesive product, press a small piece (the corner of a satin pasty, or one adhesive cover for twenty minutes) on the skin beside where you'll wear it, then take it off and wait a few hours. No redness, you're fine. Redness that fades in an hour is normal pressure marking. Redness that stays, itches or swells means skip that product and move down the ladder.
Never apply any adhesive to broken, irritated, sunburned or freshly shaved skin, and take covers off before bed.
What "hypoallergenic" means here
Our silicone covers are made from hypoallergenic medical-grade silicone, and they're latex-free, phthalate-free, vegan and cruelty-free. Hypoallergenic means the materials are chosen to make a reaction unlikely; it doesn't mean impossible, which is why we still say patch test. That claim applies to the silicone products only. Boob tape, satin pasties and push-up inserts are different materials, and we don't make the same claim for them.
Boob tape and sensitive skin
Tape covers a lot more skin than a cover does, and it comes off with oil rather than a gentle peel, so it's the product most likely to bother sensitive skin. If you want lift and you know you're reactive, patch test a strip for a few hours first, always use a cover or pasty under it, remove it slowly with plenty of oil, and don't wear it two days running. If you've reacted to tape before, the Silicone Sticky Bra gives shape without any tape. Our boob tape guide covers removal in detail.

FAQ
Do sensitive covers stay on as well as regular ones?
Yes under most outfits. The adhesive ring is the same adhesive; there's just less of it, so on a heavier bust the standard pair holds better.
Are they safe for nipple piercings?
We haven't tested them with piercings, so we don't claim it. The adhesive-free center is the most piercing-friendly design we make; try one and patch test.
My skin is fine but removal hurts. Which cover?
Nip-Safe. That's exactly the problem it solves.
Is the silicone medical-grade?
Yes. It's the same grade of silicone used for products that sit on skin for long periods.
How do I make removal gentler?
Go slowly from one edge, and never pull straight out. If a cover feels stuck, a little warm water at the edge loosens it. Our application guide has the full routine.
What if I react to the satin pasties too?
Stop and see a dermatologist; you may be reacting to the adhesive family generally rather than to any one product.
